Westminster Waste Unveils State-of-the-Art Recycling Plant in Partnership with Kiverco

At Westminster Waste, we are thrilled to announce the successful commissioning of our brand-new multi-million-pound recycling plant in collaboration with Kiverco, a leader in recycling plant technology. This cutting-edge facility is one of the largest of its kind in the South East of England and represents a significant milestone in our mission to divert 100% of waste from landfill. Designed to process Construction and Demolition Waste (C&D), Commercial and Industrial Waste (C&I), and wood, this new plant will revolutionise our waste management capabilities and reinforce our commitment to sustainability.

This latest investment marks the third time we have chosen Kiverco as our trusted partner, a decision driven by the exceptional quality of their machinery, their expertise, and their ability to tailor solutions to meet our specific needs. Our partnership with Kiverco dates back to 2019 when they first supported us in upgrading our previous recycling facility. The durability and reliability of their equipment, combined with their outstanding aftercare service, made Kiverco the obvious choice when we began planning for the future.

Why We Invested in This New Facility

As London continues to grow, so does the volume of waste generated by construction, industry, and other sectors. At Westminster Waste, we see this as both a challenge and an opportunity. Our objective has always been to reduce our environmental impact by recovering and recycling as much material as possible. To meet this goal, we needed a facility capable of handling large volumes of waste efficiently while ensuring the highest levels of purity in our recyclables.

After visiting multiple recycling facilities across the UK and seeing Kiverco’s equipment in action, we were confident that their technology could help us achieve our goals. The new plant is designed to process up to 60 tonnes of waste per hour, using advanced automation technology to streamline the sorting and separation of materials. This shift towards automation will help us reduce our reliance on manual labour, increase throughput, and ensure cleaner, higher-quality recycled materials.

A Solution Tailored to Our Needs

From the outset, Kiverco worked closely with our team to understand our requirements and develop a solution that would meet the demands of our busy London facility. Together with Kiverco’s technical team and third-party technology partners, we have built a plant that is not only fit for today’s needs but is also adaptable for future growth.

The facility is designed to handle the high bulk density associated with construction and demolition waste—one of the more challenging materials in waste management. The automation in the plant ensures that materials are sorted efficiently, reducing contamination and improving recycling rates. This technology will allow us to process more waste, recover more recyclable materials, and move closer to our 100% landfill diversion target.

A Step Towards a Greener Future

For us, this plant is more than just an investment in infrastructure—it’s an investment in the future of waste management and sustainability in London. By increasing the efficiency of our operations and improving the quality of our recyclables, we are taking a major step toward creating a circular economy where materials are reused and recycled, rather than sent to landfill.

Dominic Moule, Managing Director of Westminster Waste, commented:
“This new plant represents a huge leap forward for our business. Our goal has always been to lead the way in sustainable waste management, and with this facility, we’re well on our way to achieving 100% diversion from landfill. Kiverco has been a key partner in this journey, and we’re delighted with the results. This plant will allow us to grow and serve more clients while reducing our environmental impact.”

Looking Ahead

At Westminster Waste, we are committed to Recycling London’s Waste in the most sustainable and efficient way possible. This new facility is just one of the many steps we’re taking to ensure that we continue to lead the industry in innovative, responsible waste management.
