Dry Mixed Recycling (DMR)

Our Dry Mixed Recycling (DMR) service offers a convenient solution for managing multiple types of recyclables in a single bin. This service allows you to combine paper, cardboard, plastics, and metals in one container, simplifying the recycling process for your business.

Efficient Collection: We provide specially designated bins and regular collection schedules to ensure your dry mixed recyclables are managed efficiently.

Streamlined Sorting: At our recycling facilities, DMR materials are carefully sorted to separate different recyclables, maximizing recovery and minimizing contamination.

Know What to Exclude: It’s important to remember that not all types of dry waste can be included in DMR. Items such as waxed paper cups, crisp and sweet wrappers, tissues, and napkins are not suitable for dry mixed recycling and may contaminate the entire waste stream if included.

By ensuring only appropriate materials are placed in DMR bins, you help maintain the quality of recyclables and prevent contamination, contributing to more effective recycling practices.

Metal Recycling

Westminster Waste integrates comprehensive metal recycling into our broad waste management services, providing rebates based on the value of materials recovered.

We handle a diverse range of metals from various sources, including commercial strip outs, demolition work, infrastructure upgrades, and discarded wiring. Our capabilities cover a variety of metals such as copper, aluminium, steel, brass, zinc, tin, and lead. At our London facility, both ferrous and non-ferrous metals are carefully processed and classified to ensure maximum recovery value.

As part of our commitment to sustainability, we ensure that all metal waste is recycled entirely within the UK, enabling these materials to be reused without degrading in quality. This approach significantly reduces the need for new raw materials. Whether managing bulk scrap metal from industrial operations or smaller amounts through our fleet services, we make the recycling process both convenient and efficient.

Wood Recycling

We have a fully upgraded wood processing facility equipped with state-of-the-art machinery, combining the best equipment into a streamlined processing line. As a result, we maintain competitive, market-leading rates for our customers while ensuring that our facility operates continuously, accepting waste wood throughout the year.

Our commitment to sustainability drives us to divert waste wood from landfills, promoting responsible waste management practices that prioritise recycling and repurposing. By moving materials up the waste hierarchy, we keep resources within the UK, contributing to a circular economy and reducing the environmental impact of waste disposal.

As active members of the Wood Recyclers Association, we adhere to best practices in sustainable wood recycling and repurposing. Our membership reflects our dedication to environmental stewardship and excellence in waste management.

Plastic Recycling

Westminster Waste manages a variety of plastics from our clients, including clear polythene, correx, PVC, and polystyrene.

To improve transportation and recycling efficiency, our state-of-the-art equipment is designed to compress bulky plastics, such as foam packaging. After collection, these plastics are processed at our facility and then delivered to reprocessors to be converted into new products.

For any materials that cannot be recycled, we convert them into Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF), ensuring that none of your waste ends up in a landfill.

Plasterboard Recycling

At Westminster Waste, we specialise in the efficient and sustainable recycling of plasterboard waste (AKA drywall), a common byproduct of construction projects. Our goal is to divert plasterboard from landfill, reducing environmental impact.

Our plasterboard recycling process begins with the careful collection and sorting of waste material. We ensure that all plasterboard is separated from contaminants to maintain high-quality recyclables. The sorted plasterboard is then processed, where the gypsum core is extracted and refined. This reclaimed gypsum is reintroduced into the production cycle, allowing it to be reused in new plasterboard products and other construction materials.

Businesses that generate plasterboard waste have a legal duty to ensure it is handled and processed in compliance with UK environmental regulations. Improper disposal of gypsum-based waste can result in legal penalties and increased costs. At Westminster Waste, we help your organisation stay compliant with all relevant laws while providing cost-effective solutions for plasterboard disposal.

Glass Recycling

We provide comprehensive Glass Recycling Services to help businesses and communities manage their glass waste responsibly. Our process starts with the collection of glass waste from various sources, including bottles, jars, and construction materials. Once collected, we ensure that the glass is carefully sorted by type and colour to maintain quality. After sorting, the glass is sent to specialised reprocessing facilities, where it is crushed, cleaned, and transformed into cullet—a raw material used to produce new glass products.

By partnering with leading reprocessors, we ensure that the glass is recycled efficiently, reducing the need for new raw materials and conserving energy. This partnership allows us to support the circular economy and minimise the environmental impact of glass production.

Aggregate Recycling

At Westminster Waste, we provide reliable and sustainable Aggregate Recycling services to support construction and demolition projects in minimising waste and promoting resource conservation. Aggregates, such as concrete, asphalt, bricks, and stones, are essential materials in construction. By recycling these materials, we reduce the need for virgin resources and help create a more sustainable construction industry.

Our aggregate recycling process involves collecting and transporting construction and demolition waste to our recycling facility. Here, the waste is sorted and processed to remove any contaminants. The clean material is then crushed and screened to produce high-quality recycled aggregates. These recycled materials are used in various construction applications, including road base, drainage systems, and new concrete production.
